Recent News at EES

Updated: Aug 30, 2023

EES offers a number of different types of projects and services to our clients. Recently, we have been working on some interesting things and would like to take the time to inform our readers.

We have completed, and are currently working on, pharmaceutical waste management projects within hospital systems. This process includes a complete audit of all waste streams at each facility, determining applicable hazardous waste regulations, and finally creating a waste management plan specific to the facility that will ensure compliance with all EPA, State and Local waste regulations. Managing pharmaceutical waste can be a time-consuming and difficult process because the EPA has yet to release specific regulations for pharmaceutical waste. This requires facilities to interpret existing waste regulations for industry and formulate methods to understand and comply with these regulations.

Additionally, EES has completed a number of Energy Benchmarking projects for facilities in Philadelphia and is working on new benchmarking projects for energy usage in 2013. This is a new requirement in Philadelphia. The process uses the EPA’s Portfolio Manager Program to inventory all types of energy usage for a facility. This information is then submitted to the city and is eventually available for the public to view.

EES continues to provide permitting services for a number of facilities in Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey. These services include initial permitting for air, storm water, water, waste, and chemical management and also ongoing compliance services for these environmental areas.

Finally, Tom Petersen, President of EES, has recently completed a two-day, hands-on air dispersion modeling training course on the BREEZE AERMOD model to support our modeling capabilities. This will enable EES to further expand the list of services we offer.

If you need help with any type of environmental project, please give us a call or contact us here.
